A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 24 for the opening of the newly renovated Water Street Bridge in Newark Valley. Students from the Newark Valley elementary school and several antique automobiles paraded across the bridge when it opened.
 The Main Street Apalachin bridge, which has been closed for renovation, is scheduled to open later this month.
