 Tactical Defense International
Shooter's Corner
by Gary Hellmers

Our second night shoot of 2002 was great fun. We had a nice mix of paper and steel. Thirty three shooters on one relay. Things appear much different in the dark with the use of a flashlight. The round count was raised in order to allow more magazine changes. This with the added difficultly of the darkness is a teaching tool. We received many compliments on the pits and the scenarios. Thanks you for the kind words.

Thank you to all the shooters, and a special thanks to the range officers, Don, Dave, Vern, and all the others who brought supplies and those who helped tear down!

We had a great mix of shooters, including four women and two juniors. Way to go!

The next match will be a regular Day Shoot on Saturday, November 9, with relays at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Hope to see all of you there.

The year is winding down and we will be having the Toys for Tots match on Saturday, December 14. The match fee is a $15 toy, and you shoot both relays if you like. This is a great cause and I hope you will support us.

The Tactical Defense International annual banquet will be in January and a sign up sheet will be posted at the November match. We have grown to the point we are looking for an alternative place to have the banquet in case the Blue Dolphin cannot handle our growing numbers. We will let everyone know.

Hunting season is starting up. Please, to all of you,  be careful Every year it seems we read in the paper or hear on the news of a hunter either shot or of a hunter who shot another hunter.

 Remember:
1. Hunt on familiar property, and with permission.
2. Always identify the target.
3. Know what is beyond your target.
