Waterman Center Wins Grant Waterman Conservation Education Center in Apalachin was awarded a $2945 grant from the Community Foundation for South Central New York. The grant money will be used for new flooring in the main hallway and two offices at its main interpretive center on Hilton Road. Waterman Center's mission is to promote conservation education and outdoor recreation and to encourage the appreciation and understanding of the total environment. The Community Foundation for South Central New York provides grants
throughout a five-county region, including Broome and Tioga Counties. As
a community foundation, the organization serves as a "community savings
account," building a permanent endowment through individual, corporate,
and other contributions.
