Melissa will help your child collect leaves, identify them, and
make a wonderful picture. Find out why leaves are so important. Designed
for preschool children, 3 and 4 years old and an accompanying adult. $2
members, $3 non-members.
Fall Foliage Breakfast on Hiawatha Island
October 13, Sunday, 9-11am
Climb aboard the Susquehanna Shuttle for a ride to Hiawatha Island,
the Jewel of the Susquehanna. Once there, view some of this area's most
spectacular fall foliage and explore this unique historical site and wildlife
refuge. Enjoy a big, farm-style breakfast. Reservations required. $17 adult
members, $20 adult non-members. 1/2 price for children ages 5 - 12; free
for children under 5

Explore why some trees change colors and lose their leaves in
the fall. $2 members, $3 non-members
Spiders
October 19, Saturday, 6:30 pm
Learn what makes these creepy creatures so special. Naturalist
Jeanne Peterson will explain their unique lifestyle and show slides of
local arachnids. $2 members, $3 non-members.
Full Moon Hike
October 21, Monday, 6:30 pm
Watch the Harvest Moon rise over the hills. Bring a flashlight.
Fun for the whole family. Free for members, $2 non-members.
Volunteer Naturalist Meeting

Find out what's happening and how you can help. Coffee and a
morning snack will be provided.

Halloween Hikes

Come out and talk to the animals Candlelit hikes in Waterman
woods leave every 10 minutes to meet forest creatures such as ladybugs,
cardinals, and rabbits. There will be a storyteller at the bonfire, face
painting for the kids, food, and lots more. Call early to reserve your
spot. $4 members, $6 non-members. No charge for children under 2.
Creatures from Brick Pond
October 26, Saturday, 7 pm
Brick Pond in Owego
Thrills and chills abound in this fearful night as groups hike
around Brick Pond in Owego to see what scare lurks at the next bend. Designed
for teens to adults.

Melissa will explain why plants produce fruits, nuts, and berries.
Special project is making a jack-o-lantern. Designed for preschool children
(3 and 4 years old) and an accompanying adult. $2 members, $3 non-members.
