Let's Go Swimming Sundays
The Tioga County Boys & Girls
Club and the Al Reppert Memorial Fund have scheduled Sunday swims at the
Greater Owego Community Pool at Owego Free Academy. This offering is for
school age children. Participants need not be members of the Boys &
Girls Club nor have pool memberships. However, sign up is required in advance
at the Boys & Girls Club. Swim time is from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on April
8 and 22, May 6 and 20, and June 3 and 17.

TCB&GC business office, Monday to Friday, 687-0690, from 7:00 am to
4:00 pm.
Water Aerobics
There has been so much interest
in the Tuesday and Thursday evening classes that class on Monday and Wednesday
evenings will be added in May.
Adult Swim Lessons
Beginning in May, adult swimming
lessons will be added to the Saturday morning classes from 9 to 9:30 am.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic
Program (AFAP)
Mon, Wed, Fri, 11:45am-12:30pm
This class is going strong and the
participants are feeling the rewards as the warmer weather is approaching.
Starting this coming season, the AFAP Plus program will be incorporated
into the Wednesday class. If you are suffering from arthritis pain, ask
your doctor if you may benefit from this class.
Greater Owego Swim Team
The Greater Owego Swim Team (GOST)
winter season ended with the team finishing 11th out of 17 teams at the
Souther Tier Swim League (STSL) Championships. The team currently consists
of 40 local athletes and is preparing for the summer season ahead. The
summer season practices will begin April 30. The team will be competing
in the STSL and USA swim meets throughout the summer.
Lifeguard Training
April 16 - 22
The next lifeguard training course
will be offered over the April break, April 16-22. Re-certifications are
welcome. Participants must be at least 15 years old and pass a skills pretest
the first day of class. Trainees who successfully complete the course will
receive American Red Cross certificates for Lifeguarding and CPR. Cost
is $140 for members; $165 for non-members. Re-certifications: $45/$55.

Help your family be ready for the
summer with swimming lessons. There are classes for all levels of ability.
Classes will be held May 9 - June 6. Registration is from April 23 - May
4.
