Backyard Safari through Tioga
Discover things to do and see in our county

As spring develops a full head of steam, the Tioga County Tourism Office would like you to know about the Backyard Safari through Tioga, an expedition into a variety of things to see and do in the Southern Tier in 2001. The Safari takes place on April 29 at the Owego Treadway Inn from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. Admission is free for everyone.

The Backyard Safari will feature numerous attractions and activities for children of all ages, from the Strawberry Festival to the Tioga Scenic Railroad. Among the many exhibitors, patrons will be able to see information on numerous events, such as the Apple Festival, Rudin's Olde Tyme Farm Days, and the Great New York State Chili Championship. Parents will be able to preview various attractions for their family, such as the Waterman Conservation Education Center, Fallow Hollow Deer Farm, and the Bement-Billings Living History Museum.

Tioga County Tourism organizes and promotes the Backyard Safari as a way to allow the local residents and visitors outside the county an opportunity to get a sneak-peak at the wide variety of things to see and do this summer and fall. There will be a number of door prizes and giveaways throughout the day.
