Mom's Wit
by Janet H. Brown

My daughter has a brownie recipe that was given to her by her school bus driver, Donna Patterson, who said this is the ONE recipe everyone should have because it is the best. And guess what? It is! So, here is the recipe:

2 sticks of margarine, (Amanda used butter)
1 1/4 cups of flour
3/4 cup cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups of sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)      (Amanda didn't use them)
Soften the margarine, add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the mixture and beat well. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan (Amanda used PAM - the only "healthy" thing in this recipe!). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Enjoy! Next month, I'll have a chocolate tofu cake recipe given to me by Frank's wife. I ate some of the cake, and it was delicious. And Frank can tell you - no fat!
