Ask Lockheed to Open their Parkway

Having witnessed the traffic disruptions during the previous bridge closure in the early 1970's, I recall using the 'IBM Parkway' of the time on occasion to escape bottlenecks on 5th Avenue. This was prior to the development of the many businesses between Hiawatha Bridge and the village line.

Since traffic will again be trapped between the river and the railroad tracks on this stretch, it would be beneficial if Lockheed Martin would consent to re-open their parkway for the duration of the bridge reconstruction. If the Town of Owego hasn't already requested this of Lockheed Martin, now would be a good time to do so.
