The Bridges of Broome County

The City of Binghamton recently installed decorative lights on the South Washington Street Bridge, which connects the city's South Side with the downtown district. Built in 1886 by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company of Connecticut, the bridge is a three-span lenticular truss bridge. It is currently open only to pedestrian traffic.
The lights on the South Washington Street Bridge are reflected in the Susquehanna river. The State Office Building can be seen in the background. This digital photo was taken about 9:00 pm on August 30 using an Olympus 360Z, set at ISO 500. Only two of the bridge's three spans can be seen in this photo.
