4-H Shooting Sports Shotgun Program

4-H Shooting Sports, offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension, Tioga County, is an opportunity for boys and girls 12- to 19-years-old to learn safe handling, shooting, cleaning, and storage of firearms.

The shotgun segment of the Shooting Sports program will be held on Saturday, May 27, and Saturday, June 3, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The classes will be held at the Tioga County Sportsmen's Association Clubhouse on Carmichael Road in Owego.

The class is limited to 12 participants. A registration fee of $25.00, to cover costs and materials, is required at the time of registration. All equipment and ammunition will be provided. Certified 4-H Shooting Sports instructors teach the classes.

In addition to firearm safety, there will be hands on practice in skeet and trap shooting.
