Youth Group's 30-Hour Famine
The Junior High Youth Group from St. Margaret Mary's Church in Apalachin held their annual 30 Hour Famine last month. The 29 teenagers and their peers played, prayed, and learned about the less fortunate in other countries. They slept in boxes to get the feel of being homeless. The went to the grocery store to learn how expensive food is and to learn what it takes to feed a family. They helped setup, prepare, serve, and clean up lunch at a local soup kitchen and saw poverty in their own community.

The youth group collected $1,280 at church and at sponsors for World Vision. They thank everyone for the community support.
