From the Tioga County Dairy Princess, Nicole Higley

Winners of the State Dairy Princess Pageant

I was recently a participant in the New York State Dairy Princess Pageant. It was a fun and learning experience. We were judged on product knowledge, interviews, and public speaking. I would like to congratulate the winners of the pageants: Second Alternate Sullivan County's Christine Weissmann, First Alternate Wayne County's Cairy Norman, and our new State Dairy Princess Delaware County's Marianne Moody. Congratulations on your new titles and may your next year be filled with great memories.

I would like to share a recipe I learned at the state pageant.

Yum-Yums

1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
6 ounces butterscotch bits
1 small can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put the stick of butter in a 9" x 13" baking pan. Place the pan in the oven until the butter is completely melted. Take the pan out and stir in the graham cracker crumbs. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle both the chocolate and the butterscotch bits into the pan. Pour the milk evenly over the mixture and cover as much of the pan as possible. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly bubbly. Yum-Yums are great with ice cream. Yum-yum!
