Mystery Steps in Apalachin

These beautiful steps appeared at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Route 434 in Apalachin. They were placed next to the base for the air stripper well at the site of the former Ken's Gas Station. We checked with one Town of Owego official, and he could not explain the mysterious appearance of the white and green Steps with the railings that seem to glow. So, here are the top ten explanations for the Steps:
10) A lookout point from which to better view the railroad station across the street,

9) a band stand,

8) a piece of modern art which 'speaks' to us,

7) a place to do step aerobics during a morning jog,

6) a 'soapbox' from which to speak your mind,

5) a place for Apalachin brides to have their photos taken,

4) steps to the invisible gazebo,

3) a timegate to a wormhole,

2) stage one preparation for the alien landing site, and

1) the green and white Steps are the leprechauns stairway to the pot of gold! Sure 'n' have a Grand St. Patrick's Day!
