Marvin Park Pool Restoration Efforts

The Village of Owego received a federal grant of $232,000 which will be used to restore the community pool at Marvin Park. The village must match the amount through funds or in-kind service.
The Marvin Park Pool Restoration Committee was formed last year to raise money for the pool which was built in the late 1950s. The pool has not been open for more than three years because it needs major repairs.
In January, the Owego American Legion sponsored a lasagna dinner (pictured below) to benefit the Marvin Park Pool Restoration Restoration efforts. Jane Graham, commander, organized and cooked the dinner while committee members and helpers prepared, served, and cleaned up. The committee would like to thank all who attended. A special "thank you" to Jane Graham for all her efforts on the pool committee's behalf.
More projects are being planned.
If you have any fund raising ideas, or are interested in joining and helping the committee, you are needed. Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated. All support is needed to accomplish this goal. If you are interested, call 687-2247.
