The Grand Opening of the Greater Owego Community Pool was held on Saturday, December 11, at 10:00 am at the Owego Free Academy.

The eight-lane Olympic size pool will be open for swimming on Sunday, December 12.

Use of the pool is not free. You must either be a member of the Greater Owego Community Pool, or pay a per-use fee.

Memberships are available from Tioga Opportunities and cost $175 for an individual, $275 for a family, and $150 for senior citizens. A $25 discount is being offered until January 31, 2000. Members are allowed to use the pool during scheduled hours and will receive discounts on the cost of classes.

Non-members may use the pool during "Community Swim" times at a cost of $2 for an adult, $1 for a child, or $5 for a family.
