18 Students Taken to Hospital

Two Tioga Center school buses and a passenger car were involved in an accident on the afternoon of May 17 in front of the school on 5th Avenue in Tioga Center. According the State Police, bus driver Debora Evans stepped on the gas instead of the brake pedal, causing her bus to slam into the rear of the car, pushing it into the rear of the second bus. The car was occupied by four students. Both buses were carrying students. No tickets were issued. Eighteen students were taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre where they were treated and released.
