Walking Tour of Owego's Historic Characters

June 12, Saturday, 11 am

Local historian John Shafer will lead a tour visiting the sites of homes and businesses for some of Owego New York's more interesting characters - from John D. Rockefeller to field naturalist J. Alden Loring. The tour will begin at the museum. $2.50 for members, $5 for non-members.

Museum Grounds Cleanup Day

June 5, Saturday, 10 am

Join the staff, trustees, and volunteers as they clean up the museum grounds.They are looking for some "green thumbs" to help with raking and sweeping; planting seeds, flowers; and ground cover, and edging and pruning. Donations of grass seed, flowers, or other plantings would also be helpful. Refreshments will be served.

Walking Tour of Owego's Earliest History

July 10, Saturday 11am

Visit places which mark our area's earliest history - from Iroquois foot paths and settlements, to the sites of the first homes of white settlers in the 1790s. Take a look at the museum's pre-historic artifacts and talk about Tioga County's first peoples. $2.50 for members, $5 for non-members.
