Jim Saddlemire Candidate for County Clerk

Jim D. Saddlemire, 55, of Campville, announced his candidacy for the office of Tioga County Clerk. A life-time resident of Tioga County, Jim has served over 17 years military service in the U.S., Korea, Germany and a combat tour in Vietnam.

Jim graduated form Owego Free Academy in 1961 and earned an A.A.S. from Broome Community College. He has completed the Navy Leader Development Program and the Navy Seabee Combat Leader School. No other operation generates, stores, and protects more records than the U.S. Armed Forces!

Jim was awarded many combat ribbons, service ribbons, and medals. He also earned the U.S. Navy Distinguished Rifleman, Distinguished Pistol and Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist Badges. His Pistol Distinguished was the 164th awarded to enlisted personnel in over 200 years of Naval History.

The Saddlemires have a long history of military and public service, dating back to pre-Civil War 1860s. Tioga County residents will long remember Carl Saddlemire for his 40 years of service to this county. Jim's daughter, Sandra, continues this tradition as a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, (class of 1990).
