Englehart Looks Back on Years Chamber's President

There have been many challenges as the President of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce for the past 14 years. I am very proud of our successes and accomplishments.

It has been a joy to serve the membership... and the community. Some of the members of the Board of Directors have made many important contributions to the work of the Chamber over the years and it has been a pleasure to work with them.

Our successes include the first county travel guide and events calendar, the rebuilding and continuing operation of the Tourist Information Center, increased member services, the trade and business show, military band concerts, business counseling, the small business and human resources roundtables, the "Taking P.R.I.D.E in Tioga County" program, Project Peanut Butter & Jelly...and more. Not to be forgotten is the Accreditation and Reaccreditation of the Chamber by the United States Chamber of Commerce. And by all means, let us never forget all of those ribbon cuttings which meant so much to all of those businesses and organizations!

I will not dignify any negative comments made by replying to them. Suffice it to say that it is always amazing to me that some people, who by their own admission have not been involved with the Chamber for many years, are such authorities on it.

My sincere thanks to all of the kind people who have sent me their best wishes.

The time has come for me to pursue a different career path and I will let my honesty, integrity, work ethic and work

record speak for themselves.

Sincerely,

Joan A. Englehart, Ph.D.
