Winter Nature Series for Adults and Children
January 7, 14, 21, 28, Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am
This program is open to all three- and four-year-olds and their adult chaperones: parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle. Each week, Naturalist Eileen Shatara will explore a new nature theme through a variety of activities: hikes, games, stories, show and tell, and arts and crafts. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required. $12 members, $16 non-members for the month.
Travelogue: China in the Fall of 1986
January 10, Sunday, 2pm
Naturalist Dick Place will take you to China through his slides and stories. Everyone is welcome. FREE.
An Evening with the Stars
January 12, Tuesday, 7-9pm
Wander along the center's trails, looking at the beauty of the winter woods. You may even see a shooting star. Dress for the weather. Bring a flashlight. Hot cocoa and coffee will be available after the hike. 3$ members, $5 non-members. Call for reservations.
Annual Meeting
January 18, Monday, 7-9:30pm
All members and volunteers are invited to attend to learn more about the center's plans for 1999. Some of the best desserts from the Southern Tier and delicious Hiawatha House coffee will be served. Featured speaker for the evening will be Rick Marsi. He will speak on the natural beauty of Central America. Reservations are required. $5 per person, $7.50 per couple.
Trip to New Mexico
April 1999
Waterman Center is putting together a trip to New Mexico for April 1999. The trip will focus on Western Wildlife and Native Americans, visiting Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, historic sites, wildlife areas, and the largest grouping of Native American Dancers at the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow. Seating for the trip is limited, so it is important to reserve your place as soon as possible.
