Holiday Open House and Tree Sale

Dec 12 & 13, Sat & Sun, 10am-4pm

Create decorations for the "critter tree" and explore the wonders of the winter woods. There will be snacks and refreshments as well as lots of holiday cheer for everyone. Call the center for more details. Trees will be on sale in the parking area starting this weekend. Call the center for prices and species availability.

Slide Show - Hawks

December 20, Sunday, 2pm

Naturalist Eileen Shatara talks about hawks in the area through a slide presentation. Following the slide show, she will present Redmond, the center's Redtail Hawk. Free for members and $2 for non-members. Call for reservations.

Winter Woods Holiday Walks

December 28-30, Mon-Wed, 2-4pm

Each day at 2:00 pm, the center will lead a special walk along the trails. There are a great many animals that remain active during the winter months. Search for signs of these critters. Dress for the weather.

New Year's Day

January 1, 1999, Friday, All Day

The Exhibit Building will be closed on New Year's Day to allow the staff time to enjoy the holiday. The trails will remain open.

Trip to New Mexico

April 1999

Waterman Center is putting together a trip to New Mexico for April 1999. The trip will focus on Western Wildlife and Native Americans, visiting Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, historic sites, wildlife areas, and the largest grouping of Native American Dancers at the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow. Seating for the trip is limited, so it is important to reserve your place as soon as possible.
