Christmas Cantata

A 55-member choir from throughout the community will perform a Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 13, at 7:00 pm, at the First United Methodist Church of Newark Valley, 63 S. Main Street (Route 38) in Newark Valley.

Breakfast with Santa

Have breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 12, from 8:00 am to Noon, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue in Binghamton. Pictures with Santa will be taken. Donation is $3.75 for adults, $2.50 for children, free for children under 5. For ticket information, call Mom's House of Endicott at (607) 785-5220.

A Christmas Dinner for senior citizens (age 60 and older) will be held on Thursday, December 10, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. Entertainment will be by "A Touch of Class." The dinner is part of Owego Dinner Bell, Tioga Opportunities, Inc. Department of Aging Services. For more information, call 687-4120.

New Years Celebration for Seniors

A New Years Celebration for seniors (age 60 and older) will be held on December 30, 4:30 to 6:00 pm, at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. Entertainment will be provided by Bucky Moon. Reservations are required. For more information, call 687-4120.

The New Years Celebration is part of Dinner Bell, Tioga Opportunities Inc., Department of Aging Services.

Volunteers Needed
The Department of Aging Services needs volunteers in the areas of receptionist, food service, home-delivered meals, health insurance counseling, friendly visitor, ombudsman, transportation, and more. Choir to Sing "Carol of Christmas"

The Apalachin Alliance Church choir will present "Carol of Christmas" on Sunday, December 20, at 6:30 pm.

This musical is based entirely on the Christmas carols you know and love to sing. In addition to the choir presentation, there will be a congregational carol singing, and other special events. All are welcomed to attend. The church is located at 293 Tobey Road in Apalachin.

Holiday Music Program

The First Baptist Church of Owego will present a holiday music program with the "Melliphone," a choral group presenting Christmas music, on Saturday, December 19, at 7:00 pm, in the church sanctuary. Admission is free.

Students of the Owego Free Academy (OFA) Music Department will present a free "Winter Band Concert" on Friday, December 11, at 7:30 pm, at the Owego-Apalachin Middle School. The OFA Concert Band and the OFA Jazz Band, both directed by Mr. Daniel Fabricius, will be featured on the program. Students will perform a variety of selections including historic Concert and Big Band Jazz classics.
