Nominations Sought to Honor Senior

May is Older Americans Month throughout the nation. In keeping with tradition, the Department of Aging Service's Advisory Council annually honors a Senior Citizen by seleting one from applicants submitted by the community at large. The Advisory Council will accept applications through Friday, April 24, and select a winner to be honored at a special luncheon at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 29, at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard, Owego. Luncheon reservations must be made by Friday, May 22 by calling (607) 687-4120.

The senior nominated for this award should be one who has made a significant contribution to society. They do not have to be a member of a senior club or organization, but must be a resident of Tioga County. Please mail information including the senior's name, address, and telephone number along with all community achievements and a biography if possible, to the Department of Aging Services, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard, Owego, NY 13827. Please be sure to include your name and telephone number as a sponsor.
