Spring Book Reviews at Coburn

The Friends of the Coburn Free Library in Owego will host their 1998 spring book reviews on Wednesday afternoons, from 12:10 to 12:45 pm, at the library, 275 Main Street.

April 8 - Dorothy Eagan Spencer will review the three books of light-hearted poetry she has authored: Beyond the Barbed Wire, But Grandma! and Moments in Time.

April 15 - Carolyn Collea will review A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel.

April 22 - Tioga County historian Richard Quest will review Cold Mountain, a fictional account of a Confederate soldier walking home from the war, by Charles Frazier.

April 29 - Rick Marsi, writer for Gannet Newspapers, will review Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, a thrilling account of mountain climbing.

The reviews are free and open to the public. Sandwiches and coffee will be available.
