Shooting Sports Program for Children

Here is an opportunity for youth to learn shooting skills and safety practices correctly from the start. The Cornell Cooperative Extension's (CCE) 1998 4-H Shooting Sports Program will be starting in May. This program for girls and boys ages 12 through 19 years of age, teaches the safe handling, shooting, cleaning, and storage of firearms with a lot of hands on action. The program is open to residents of Tioga County and surrounding counties. The Rifle segment will be held on May 2, 9, and 16, and the Shotgun segment on May 23 and 30. All equipment and ammunition is provided by 4-H and all costs are included in the registration fee. Classes are taught by certified 4-H instructors. All classes are held at the Tioga County Sportsmen's Association Clubhouse on Carmichael Road in Owego.
