Owego CellularONE Fundraiser
March and April
Throughout March and April, the Owego office of CellularONE on Fifth Avenue will donate $25 to Waterman Center for every phone sold.

Pre-schoolers and adults explore nature with Naturalist Eileen Shatara. Sign up for either the Wednesday or the Thursday morning sessions. Pre-registration is required. Members $12, non-members $16.
A Himalayan Adventure
March 8, Sunday, 2pm
Carol Paden, a professional photographic artist, will share images taken in Nepal during her 30-day trip. Free. Everyone is welcome.
Volunteer Naturalist Training
March 10, 17, 24, 31, Tues, 9am-Noon
Anyone interested in learning more about the outdoors and the environment can take part in the spring training classes for volunteer naturalists. The training will include information on Waterman Center programs, as well as games, activities, and information which can be shared with the many school groups visiting the refuges. Free. Pre-registration is required.
Bats in Your Belfry
March 15, Saturday, 2pm
Naturalist Herb Stamer will lead a lively discussion on bats, one of the most misunderstood creatures. Included in the presentation will be information on how to keep bats out of houses, as well as why one might want to attract bats to the area. The program is free. Any donations will be used to install bat houses at the refuge.
Waterman's Spring Fling
March 21, Saturday, 10am-3pm
On the first day of spring, Waterman Center staff, volunteers, and visitors will celebrate in a special way. Crafts, hikes, and snacks will be available for all who attend. In addition, we will end the day with a ceremony to officially banish winter. There is a small fee for some of the activities, however admission is free.
Grantsmanship Training Program
March 30-April 3
Waterman Center will host this nationally recognized training program to help non-profit agencies and others learn about grants. The course will cover how to find grants, how to write them, and what to do when you get them. The cost of the five-day training program is $595, with a $50 discount for additional registrants from the same agency. Call the center for more details.
Waterman Discovery Hikes
April 4, 11, 18, 25, Saturdays, 2pm
Each Saturday in April, Naturalist Doug Weeks will lead a tour of discovery along the trails. Look for the colorful spring birds, wildflowers, and more. Members free, non-members $2.
