Little People/Big People

Jan 8,15,22,29, Thursdays,

10:30-11:30am or 1:30-2:30pm

Pre-schoolers and adults can join naturalist Eileen Shatara for another Little People/Big People Session which meets four times a month. Choose either the morning or afternoon session. Explore different aspects of nature through hikes, games, arts and crafts, and more! Pre-registration is required. Members $12, non-members $16.

Storytime

January 9,16,23, and 30, Fridays, 10:30-11:30am

Join naturalist Darleen Shelanskey as she takes preschoolers and toddlers on a magical journey using the magic of reading and imagination. Free for members, $2 for non-members

Travelogue

January 11, Sunday, 2pm

Join Naturalist Dick Place for a trip to the Upper Amazon Rain Forest via videos and slides. Free.

Craft Night

January 13 & 27, Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm

An evening of making crafts related to nature. Pre-registration is required. Members $12, non-members $16.

Night Hike/Ski

January 14, Wednesday, 7-9pm

Join Naturalist Doug Weeks for a special tour of the Waterman Center trails. If there is enough snow, the tour will be on cross country skis, otherwise participants will hike the trails looking for winter wildlife. Following the hike, there will be hot cocoa. Members $2, non-members, $4. Ski rentals, if necessary, are an additional $4.

Annual Meeting and Dinner

January 22, Thursday, 6-9pm

Owego Elks Club, Owego, NY

The evening begins with a brief reception at 6pm followed by dinner at 6:30pm. Following dinner, there will be a special program presented by Congressman Maurice Hinchey who will share some insights on the future of conservation and environmental issues. The cost is $15 per person. Reservations are required.

Waterman Bird Feeding Clinic

February 2, Monday, 7-9pm

Discussion of the many types of feeders and birdseed available. Learn about the feathered friends who visit your yard throughout the year. Free for members, $2 non-members.
