Memorial Golf Tournament Winners

The Third Annual Jamie Lane Memorial Golf Tournament held at the Tall Pine Players Club in Friendsville, Pennsylvania, on August 30, was the most successful ever. The Captain and Crew format was full, the weather was beautiful, and the entertainment was outstanding.




The winners this year were:

Men's Team - Perry Sweatt Team from Pennsburg, Pa, 59.

Women's Team - Dale Williams Team from Owego, 68.

Mixed Team - Millard and Charles from Montrose, Pa, 63.

Each year, musician friends of Jamie Lane donate their time and talent for this fund raising event. This year's entertainment included music by Frostbit Blue, Mize and the Spies, the Eric Chambers Band, Members of Rusty Still, and vocals by Kevin Lewis.

An added attraction was the unexpected arrival of a helicopter piloted by the architect of the golf course. His arrival in the spectacular sunset crowned the evening.

Proceeds from the golf tournament go towards a scholarship for a deserving senior to whom drumming is important in their future. The 1997 recipient of this scholarship, T. J. Heller, was present at the tournament and filled in on the drums for the Chambers Band.

Jamie Lane was a popular local drummer who died tragically in a car crash in 1995.
