1st Annual Tioga United Way Bike-A-Thon
Tioga United Way will sponsor a bike-a-thon in Tioga County on Sunday, October 26. The bike-a-thon is the first of its kind held in Tioga County and is open to bicycle enthusiasts. The 26-mile bicycle route will begin at 9:00 am at the Apalachin Plaza on Route 434 in Apalachin and proceed west on Route 434 to Court Street Bridge to 17C. The route will reach its turning point at Ransom Memorial Park in Tioga Center and then back to Apalachin Plaza.

To participate, there is a $10.00 minimum pledge for advanced registration which will increase to $15.00 at registration the day of the event. Those wishing to register the day of the event should arrive at 8:00 am. Those who have pre-registered should arrive at 8:30 am.

Riders are encouraged to raise money through sponsors who may be a family member, friend, or a business. Each rider will receive a bike-a-thon T-shirt

Sponsored by The Tioga United Way, volunteers are working to coordinate the event. Dave Cody, Broome County Parks and Recreation, has been involved with the Chris Thrader Memorium and is assisting with logistics for the event. The Tioga County Sheriff Department will oversee the safety of the bikers.
