O-A Community Pool Receives Support

A grant award of $200,000 from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation was presented to the Owego-Apalachin Pool Project Committee on February 28. This is the largest single grant awarded by the foundation to any one organization in a given year. To date, all the donations and pledges for the pool project total approximately $650,000. Community fund-raising efforts are underway to raise the balance of $350,000 by May 1, 1997.

The Community Pool Project will be combined with a plan to add classroom space to the Owego Free Academy. Pool use will be shared with the school and the community at large.
