Children's Summer
Theater Workshop Offered in Owego
The Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center will offer a Children's Summer Theater Workshop. Three, two-week sessions will take place beginning with Session One July 6 -17, Session Two July 20 - 31, and Session Three August 3 - 14. Children ages 7 through 10 will meet in the mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon and children ages 11 through 14 will meet in the afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The workshops will take place at Ti-Ahwaga's 156-seat theater at 42 Delphine Street in Owego. The fee per child for each session is $50. The Children's Summer Theater Workshop is a theater education program aimed at exposing participants ages 7 through 14 to many aspects of theater. Areas covered will include the history of theater and its cultural impact; different theatrical genres including musicals, reader's theater, drama, comedy, etc; various aspects of putting on a production. Each session will culminate in a performance on the final Friday of each two-week session. The Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center completes its 50th year with the performance of Oklahoma beginning on May 29 and running three consecutive weekends. The 2009-2910 season continues with Evita, Greater Tuna, A Streetcar Named Desire, and City of Angels and the classic, A Christmas Story.
