Business and Professional Women (BPW) across the country were mobilized on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, to call attention to the persistent and sizable gap between men's and women's wages. According to US Census Bureau on average, full-time working women earned 78 cents to every dollar earned by men. 
     BPW-Owego president Kathleen Pernice  (left) accepted a Proclamation from Carol Sweeney, Town of Owego Supervisor, (right) to call attention to the continuing wage disparity and to educate women and men about solutions to wage discrimination.
