Sister Phyllis McGuire is 
‘Woman of the Year'

 On January 17, the Owego Lions Club will have the honor of presenting Sister Phyllis McGuire, Executive Director and President of the Tioga County Rural Ministry of Owego, with the 2008-2009 "Woman of the Year Award."  An informal ceremony was held in October 2008.

 A recognition dinner hosted by the Owego Lions Club will be given in Sister Phyllis McGuire's  honor. The event will take place at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego, beginning with a social hour at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Reservations are due by January 10, 2009.

 The Tioga County Rural Ministry is a non-for-profit organization that assists the residents of Tioga County with a food pantry, financial support and various other programs such as the children's back to school clothing project, and food baskets for those in need during the holidays.  Tioga County Rural Ministry relies solely on donations from individuals and benefactors.
