Friday Night Feasts - The Candor American Legion sponsors Friday Night Feasts every Friday from September through April. Eat in or take out. 659-4940. American Legion Post #907, Spencer Rd., Candor.

JANUARY 10 - SATURDAY
Second Saturday Hike - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Waterman Center, Hilton Rd., Apalachin. Space is limited,  preregistration recommended. $5 adults, $3 children 12 and under. 

Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner Concert  - dinner at 5pm, concert at 6:15 with Bob Harris and Winnie Allen, at the First Presbyterian Church, North Ave & Temple St, Owego. $5 donation for dinner, additional donations accepted. Proceeds fund Owego area Christian Youth groups' youth weekend retreat in February at Watson Homestead. For more info call 687-1674.

Candor Fire District Commissioners Meeting - 7pm monthly meeting, Candor Fire Station, 74 Owego Rd, Candor. The Candor Fire District Commissioners also have a workshop the last Tuesday of every month.

Soup & Salad Supper - 4:30 to 6pm, at The First United Methodist Church, Main St., Newark Valley, Takeout available. Free will donation.

Pancake Breakfast - 8am to 11am,  Includes Pancakes, eggs, home fries, sausage gravy & biscuits, sausage, orange juice, coffee, hot chocolate. Candor Fire Station, Rt 96B, 74 Owego Road.

JANUARY 16 - FRIDAY
Wine and Beer Tasting Event and Silent Auction  - 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Owego Treadway. Music  by Tom Wescott & Bob Jenson from Bad Weather Blues Band. Refreshments provided by area restaurants. JANUARY 18 - SUNDAY
Always on Sunday Free Concert - 3:00 to 4:30 pm, at the First Presbyterian Union Church, Temple St. and North Ave. Owego. Local performer Tony Villecco, accompanied by John Isenberg, will perform a mix of classical and pop music from Debussy to Gershwin. Concert is free, but tickets are suggested (but not required) and may be obtained at the Tioga Co Council on the Arts office, 179 Front St, Owego .

Grease - Owego Apalachin Music Department presents the musical  Grease at the OA Theater, 3 Sheldon Guile Blvd, Owego. January 30 at  7:30 pm, January 31 at 7:30 pm, and February 1 at 2:30 pm. Adult tickets are $8, Students/Srs $6. Tickets & Info: 687-6248, bliznikp@oacsd.org.

Jack Frost Chicken BBQ - 12 Noon to 6:30pm, St. Patrick Church Hall, 300 Main St., Owego. Buy tickets at  school office, 687-1770, or from  school family. $7.50 includes half a chicken, baked beans, baked potato,  roll, brownie. Sodas available for $1 at  church hall. Free delivery in the village of Owego available - call 687-2676 the day of the BBQ. All tickets must be redeemed by 6:30 pm that day. Buy tickets early, dinners traditionally sell out before BBQ begins.

3rd Annual Candor American Legion HDTV Raffle & Steak Dinner Dance - dinner 6 to 8pm, dance starts at 8pm, TV drawings 11pm. 1st Prize is a 46" SANYO 1080p HDTV, 2nd Prize is a 32" Sharp HDTV, 3rd Prize is a 19" Emerson Digital TV. American Legion Post #907, Spencer Rd. For more info, call 659-7395.
