Peace Poster Winners

 Vestal Middle School (VMS) student Anna Kuchera and Owego Middle School (OMS) student Helen Hiltebeitel, along with their parents, were guests of the Apalachin Lions Club at the club's October 22 meeting. The two students were winners of the 21st Annual Peace Poster Contest (Peace Begins With Me) sponsored by the Apalachin Lions and Lions International.

 Anna Kuchera and  Helen Hiltebeitel winning posters will now go on for judging at the Lions district level. If selected they will be forwarded to Lions International for judging against entries from over 150 countries of the world wide Lions organization.

 Lions event chair Terry White presented each of the winners with a $50 savings bond. Lion Second Vice- President Janet DeLap expressed the Apalachin Lions appreciation to teachers Sue Anderson from OMS  and  Christine Aloi  from VMS for the time and effort they expended on this project.
