Nicholas Stevens received a $200 award
for the highest English mark in the senior year from the Glenn A. Warner
Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post #1371during OFA Awards Night. This award
has been given for many years. The organization's past president Bonita
Ballard was a recipient when she was a senior at Owego Free Academy.
Phil Jordan Psychic Show & Buffet Luncheon will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008, as a fund raiser for The American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life. The Candor American Legion Family team will be hosting this fund raiser, which will be at the Legion, 90 Spencer Rd., Candor. Pre-sale only tickets are available by calling 659-4724 and the price is $25 each (non-refundable) for tickets sold prior to August 20. Tickets after August 20 are $30. No tickets will be sold after September 15, and no tickets will be sold at the door. Preferred seating for tables of 8. The luncheon will be at 2:00 pm and the show at 3:00 pm. Call early to get your tickets, as seating is limited. All proceeds for ACS. The Ti-Ahwaga Community Players are seeking an actress to play the role of Ruth Condomine in a production of Blithe Spirit. The character of Ruth is 30 to 40 years old, with a good, clear English dialect. Auditions for the role will be held on Saturday, August 9, from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon, at the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center, 42 Delphine Street in Owego.
