New Principal at St. Pat's

Paula Smith, the current fifth-grade teacher at St. Patrick's School in Owego, has been named the new principal as the school enters its 150th year of educating students.

Mrs. Smith succeeds Linda Biggs, who retired this summer after 21 years as a teacher and principal.

Mrs. Smith brings to the school over 35 years experience in education and administration. She holds New York State certifications as an elementary teacher and school administrator/supervisor. Before moving to Owego, she taught in an elementary school in Pembroke, Maine, and served as the principal. Mrs. Smith will continue teaching fifth grade at St. Patrick's School while serving as principal.

Registration continues in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2008-2009 year. At St. Patrick's, a student receives an education that exceeds the curriculum standards of New York State, and is taught by caring, enthusiastic New York State certified teachers in small class settings.
