Senator Schumer Visits Apalachin

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (right) visited the Apalachin Pharmacy, which is owned by pharmacist Jay Lalkiya (left), in Apalachin on July 3 to talk about legislation he is co-sponsoring which would require prompt Medicare Part D payments to pharmacies within 14 days. Independent pharmacies in the Southern Tier report having to wait up to 8 weeks or more to receive payments from Medicare Part D plans.
