• Volunteers Needed 
  Volunteer your services for the 14th annual Owego Baseball Tournament at Hyde Park. Report to the concession stand to find out where you are needed. 

• 10U Baseball Tournament
  The two-week 10U tournament started Monday, July 7, and continues daily until Sunday, July 13. 

  Round robin games are being played by teams representing Nichols, Northern Tioga and Ithaca, two teams from Endicott and host Owego and three teams each from West Corners and Johnson City.  

• 12U Baseball Tournament 
  Hyde Park's four baseball fields will host the 12U tournament from Monday, July 21, through Sunday, August 3.  

• Girls Softball 
  Parents and players thanked Owego Invitational Softball Tournament officials for conducting a positive tournament that provided a great way for the girls from six Tioga County communities to end their 2008 season. 

  Newark Valley won the tournament. Tioga was second. Spencer Van Etten third.  Teams from Owego, Apalachin and Candor also competed over the Saturday/Sunday June 28/29 weekend at Hyde Park.  

  Tournament Director Mark Warfle reflected that the Tioga team made this tournament one of the most exciting. 

• Softball Winter Training 
  Winter Training Program for Owego Girls Softball is an opportunity for young softball players to develop their fast-pitch softball skills year round.
  
Register by contacting Coach Mark Warfle 687-1586 or mwarfle@hotmail.com. There's room for 20 girls in each of the two groups – minors ages 7, 8 and 9 and majors ages 10, 11 and 12. Eligible are girls ages 7 through 12 who played in the Owego Softball program. 

  Training starts Friday, October 3, at the Owego Elementary School Gym. Volunteer to be an assistant coach during the six month program.  • Web Sites
