Kayla Madison is 
Little Miss Apalachin 2008

 Kayla Madison was crowned Little Miss Apalachin during the 50th annual Firemen's Field Days last month. She is the daughter of Christina and Jason Madison, and the granddaughter of Adele Madison of Endicott, John and Kris Madison of Apalachin, Terry Hoke of Sidney, and Jill Penney of Arizona. Kayla attends Apalachin Elementary School.

 This year's runner-up is Cassidy Bond, daughter of Michael and Virginia Bond. Cassidy is the granddaughter of Susan Delcano of Endicott, Don Morrow of Endicott, and Robert and Gail Westover of Apalachin. She attends Apalachin Elementary School.

 The judges for the 2008 Little Miss Apalachin Contest were Kayley Morgan, Apalachin Fire Department Assistant Chief, President and Vestal Code Enforcement Office; Jan Warner, Apalachin Fire Department Captain, Vice-President, Safety Officer; and Dawn Phillips, 1993 Little Miss Apalachin Runner-Up.

 Musical entertainment was provided by Ashley Short, 17, a Union-Endicott student.

 The contestants were 8- and 9-year-old girls who reside within the Apalachin Fire District. They were judged on communication skills, appearance, and personality.

 The Mistress of Ceremonies for the contest was Mary Ann Cascarino, Apalachin Fire Department Commissioner and Past Chief.
