Apalachin Lions Awards Scholarships

Lion Joseph Murphy and District Governor Dr. Robert Jensen. The winners and family member joined the Lions at their dinner meeting on June 11.

Apalachin Lions Club awarded $3,000 in scholarships for 2008. Scholarship winners received $500 at their Awards Ceremonies. The scholarships promote and reward young people for service to their community and school.

This year's six winners are Elizabeth Macey from Montrose Junior-Senior High School, Thomas Dragon and Sara Wasileski from Owego Free Academy, Michael Ziolkowski from Seton Catholic Central High School, and Stephanie Kuratnick and James Mullally from Vestal Senior High School.
