Attain Eagle Rank
Vestal's Boy Scout Troop 225 held an Eagle Court
of Honor Dinner April 26, 2008, at the Vestal United Methodist Church in
Vestal. James W. Mullally, Patrick T. Lorman, and
Michael
J. Hickey were awarded the Eagle rank which is the highest rank of
Boy Scouting.

Mullally is the son of Jim and Mary Mullally
of Apalachin. James' Eagle rank was enhanced with an Eagle Bronze Palm
(received at least five merit badges more than is required for Eagle).
His Eagle project involved designing and building the employee courtyard
at Lourdes Hospital, which was previously a smoking area. He lead fellow
scouts to plant grass, bushes and flowers and put in an employee picnic
table. He is currently a senior at Vestal High School and he will be attending
Georgia Tech where he will major in bio medical engineering. |

Lorman is the son of Tom and Kathy Lorman of
Apalachin. Patrick's Eagle project involved the design and construction
of extending a handicapped accessible pressure treated walkway to make
it more accessible for the handicapped to enter trails into the woods at
Waterman Conservation Center. He is currently a senior at Vestal
High School and he will be attending the University of Albany where he
will study pre-law. |

Hickey is the son of Pat and Beth Hickey of Apalachin.
Michael's Eagle project was providing Mother Teresa's Cupboard, a food
pantry for Western Broome County with additional storage in the form of
building a triple storage cabinet and creating a new closet in the entry
room. He is currently a senior at Vestal High School and he will
be attending Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio where is he majoring
in computer information science and multi media communications. |
