BPW Installs Officers
The Owego Business and Professional Women's Club (BPW) is proud to announce the new slate of officers for club year 2008-2009. At a dessert celebration held at the Blue Dolphin Robin Allen incoming District 6 Director officiated at the installation of President Kathleen Pernice, Vice President Janet Brown, Secretary Ana Bartenstein, and Treasurer Jane Darling. In the past year Owego BPW has provided a high school scholarship to one student graduating from each high school in the area. The club provides women in need scholarships to further their education and increase earnings capabilities. The past club year was focused on Domestic Violence Awareness and the club had monthly collections of items to support A New Hope Center our local domestic Violence shelter. This summer Owego BPW will celebrate 60 years of fighting for pay equity and helping women improve their wage earning ability. all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information.
Established as the first organization to focus on issues of workingwomen,
