Quilt Workshop
July 19, 1:00 pm
The Tioga County Historical Society and
Museum is having a Quilt Workshop on July 19 at 1:00 pm. You will
learn how to do a "Pineapple" block, a variation of the Log Cabin, by hand
stitching pre-cut fabric to a block. This technique is called "sewing on
a foundation". The class is taught by Joanne Nolt, former assistant
editor of Miniature Quilts. Joanne has been teaching quilting to
interesting, interested women since 1990, trying to promote self esteem
in women through the quilt process and knowledge of the art of women who
came before us. The fee for the class is $25, paid in advance. A
material "kit" is included with the fee. You are required to bring thread,
needle, and scissors. TCHS Museum is located at 110 Front Street
in Owego. Please call (607)687-2460 or email at info@tiogahistory.org
to register. Class size is limited and reservations are required.
