Otto F.  Traue

 Otto F.  Traue, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 17, 2008.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years Helen; sons Ronald and Thomas and his 6 grandchildren. 

 Otto was born on August 17, 1919, in Manhattan a son of the late Otto and Mary (Stumpf) Traue. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1941-1945. Otto was a graduate of the American Institute of Baking and for many years with his wife owned and operated a family bakery in Oceanside, New York.  In 1965, they closed the family bakery and Otto went to work for Entenmanns's Bakery where he was employed for 17 years. In addition Otto was an avid history buff.

 Funeral services and celebration of Otto's life was held on Monday, April 21, at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral  Chapel, 273 South Main Street in Nichols, with Rev. William A. Moorby, officiating.  Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery.  A period of visitation and sharing memories was held on Sunday afternoon at the funeral chapel.
