4-H Horse Club to Begin
A new Tioga County 4-H Horse club is now forming. The club is open to youth that are nine- to nineteen- years-old as of January 1, 2008. Club projects will include learning about horses, caring for their needs, developing riding skills, and caring for and working with rescue horses. Members who do not own their own horses will have the opportunity to lease a horse for their project animal. Club membership is limited to sixteen members. The first meeting is Wednesday, May 7, at 7:00 pm in room 101 of the Tioga County Office Building, 56 Main Street in Owego. Parents are required to be at the meeting. The 4-H club leader and a 4-H staff person will be on hand to introduce prospective members to the 4-H Horse Program, outline the club plans, and discuss the expectations of club membership. Enrollment forms will be available at the meeting or can be picked up ahead of time in the 4-H Office. Interested families should call the 4-H Office to register for the first meeting.
