The Literacy Program for Candor Children has distributed more than  1000 since its inception in April, 2007, through its Free Books Project.  Children's books are available at the Candor Laundromat and the United Health Services office (54 Main Street, Candor).

 Gently-used books are needed to keep the project going.  Donations can be made by dropping them off at the United Health Services office (leave them there for Connie Naughton), by dropping them off at the office of Candor Family Dentistry (12 Main Street, Candor) or by contacting Stella Boyer at (607) 659-3556 or stellaboyer@hotmail.com.

 The success of the Free Books Project depends entirely on the community's support.  The Literacy Program for Candor Children is brought to you by the Candor Community Services Corporation, a group that strives to promote the well-being and betterment of the community and its members by means of social gatherings, community programs, lectures and other forms of social interaction.
