Fire Wire
Mother nature finally gave us a break from
the dry spell this last week in April which helped green things up. Campville
community was fortunate to have only 3-4 ground fires which were contained
quickly. Thank you to all for keeping in mind the open burn rule during
this very dry spell.
Campville boat members put in many volunteer hours in the search and rescue efforts for a missing person from Broome County. The crew was out non-stop on Friday evening and daytime hours on both Saturday and Sunday. The following Friday was another full day as a joint effort to locate the person. Unfortunately, the search ended on Sunday when the boat was again called out as a final closure. Our prayers go out to the family. Training
Campville squad members Rosemary Kotski, Ed Kotski, Ruthanne Phelps, Sherrie Young, JP Radjkowski, Sharon Stanley, Al Peterson Nancy Peterson and Pat Hickey attended the United Health Services Trauma Teaching Day at the Binghamton Regency. The sessions were informative and the day was enjoyed by all. Squad member Pat Hickey attended the EMS Teaching Day 2008 at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Our in-house squad training this month completed our blood bourne pathogen OSHA requirements. Thank you Jackie. The firefighters completed in house training on ground fires. We appreciate the time and effort our members put in to attending education and training programs. Help Wanted
Show appreciation to all EMS personnel the week of May 18 through May 24. They are the squad that shows up at your doorstep at a time of need any time of the day or night. We wish all Moms a Happy Mother's Day.
