Project
Linus Offers Blankets for Children
Project Linus, an all-volunteer organization that provides comfort and security to seriously ill and traumatized children through handmade blankets, will have blankets available at their May 10 meeting at the ambulance building, 58 Main Street, in Candor. Parents and caregivers of children that would benefit from Linus blankets are invited to stop by and choose a handmade blanket to take home. Blankets will be available from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. If you cannot attend but would still like a blanket for a child in your care, please contact us and we will deliver a blanket to you. Yarn and fabric will also be available for people to take home and make Linus blankets. Donations of materials and gift cards (to area shops that sell fabric, quilting materials, etc.) are always needed and are tax deductible. Project Linus of Tioga County holds meetings on the second Saturday of the month at 1:30 pm, at the ambulance building in Candor. Join them to work on quilt kits, sew on labels, color quilt blocks, and other activities. To get involved or for more information, contact Stella Boyer at 659-3556, or by email at stellaboyer@hotmail.com.
