Coach Resource Center 
 Little League has a Resource Center to provide the Little League Baseball and Softball Coach or Manager with tools they need to be effective leaders of children, to run efficient and productive practices, and to teach children the baseball or softball skills they need to be able to excel. 

 The service is being provided at absolutely no charge whatsoever by Little League International. Any and all Little League Baseball and Softball Managers and Coaches are eligible to access any of the information in this Resource Center at any time.

 The site is packed with video clips and articles ranging from the role of the coach to Practice Planning Guidelines to how to field a ground ball. Here are some other categories on the site: Season Planning, Parental Involvement, Rules of the Game, Teaching the Skills, Drills and Activities, Planning a Practice, Safety and Conditioning and Managing on Game Day. 

 Information Officer Rich Ives has distributed authentication codes to OLL managers and coaches for access to the free resource. 

  Volunteer Opportunities
 Teener League – Managers and coaches. Teams compete in the Southern Tier Teener League. Contact Teener VP Bill Evans bevans1227@msn.com

  OLL - Volunteer umpires to be trained by Umpire in Chief Jim Medovich. Call him on 754-6319. Volunteers needed for Work Bee Saturdays April 19 and 26. 

 Other volunteer opportunities include field maintenance, team mom, operators for two  Scoreboards play National Anthem and Little League pledge weeknights at 6 p.m.,50/50 ticket sellers, concession stand duties, coaching, and Education Training Coordinator for managers and players. 

  Work Bees
 "Spring Clean" Hyde Park for the 2008 season on two Saturdays, April 19 and 26, starting at 9 am regardless of weather. A "What Has To Be Done List" will be posted. Pick the task you'd like to do. 

  Raffle Tickets
 Raffle tickets are due Saturday, April 26, to Chairman Lori Espe.

 On Williamsport Little League www.littleleague.org., you'll find the Little League Newsletter, ASAP Safety Program Newsletter and The Coach's Box. Each online Newsletter contains important information for OLL parents, coaches and managers.

  Opening Day 
 Opening Day for the 57th season is Saturday, May 3. Starts at 8:30 am with parade from Owego Police Station on North Avenue to George Street to Hyde Park. 9 am.

 Opening Day Ceremonies on Nick Raftis Memorial Field. Full day of baseball, tee-ball and softball games. Five games each at starting times of 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

  Picture Days
 Picture Chairman Phil Wiles says Baseball and Softball Picture Day is Saturday, May 10. 

 New location: Owego Free Academy parking lot. Reason: avoid the AMBA blood screening crowd at Owego Elementary. Picture Day for Teener League is Thursday, May  31.    Pitch Count Program 

 To protect the arms of young players, and in keeping with Little League regulations regarding baseball, OLL has as Pitch Count Program. This defines the amount of rest needed based on the number of actual pitches thrown.
